In Remembrance of John Lennon Oct. 9, 1940 - Dec. 8, 1980.

John Winston Lennon

Biography

This BBC Radio broadcast "Bigger than Jesus" tells the story of a truly extraordinary event and its aftermath. It's a story of fame, the mass media, pop music and religion, of two cultures clashing. We discover how an interview with a pop star could ignite a debate about the place of religion in an increasingly secular society. Illustrated with contemporary sound archive, listeners will hear from those who were in the Beatles' inner circle at the time and from those who protested against them.

My brother lives in NYC on the West Side on 72st. The Dakota is 2 blocks away. I often walk by it and get such a funny feeling when I do. I can't believe it's 25 years tomorrow already. I'll be posting a music video of Two of Us

That he was shot was wrong but the bigger tragedy would have been if he was still alive today to diminish his legend by producing second rate tunes and playing to baby boomers in Vegas.

Hi, KidRic

I'm glad you were able to watch the video over on my blog.

As soon as I realised what day is today, I welled up.

John, lovely John...

I'm in for Sunday's chat, I'm having dinner with co-workers but I think I'll be back on time!

Take care, I'm going to listen to the Beatles all day today.

xxM

Hey Ric,

You're blog is so happening,I like
the vibe I get when I arrive here.

3:30am,I'm listening to my local
radio station as they play all Beatles and John songs.Across the
Universe is playing as I type this.
I signed the petition.Darn right
there should be an international
holiday for him.As I always said
since that horrific day:All John
ever wanted was a world in peace
not a world in pieces.

Thanks for alerting me to the loop
Friday.I'm in for the chat on Sunday, yes indeed.Thank you
again Ric! :O)

PS..Pete's assistant Nicola Joss
said that she received a package
of DVD's from me,I hope Pete chooses to put them up next week
after the Basement Jam run.
Funny thing is,that Rachel emailed
me and said that they didn't receive a package.Communication
crossed there I guess.I know they
are crazily busy so I'll be patient :)

John Lennon, wow what can you say. Someone who left a big mark in time. Yea I knew Roy. My dad worked with him before I was born. They worked in the oil fields of West Texas. I saw him the week before he died. He was in Austin and looked me up. We had lunch. He was so excited about his career. He went out happy. I will try to make the Sunday chat. I am involved in some charity concerts and it has been some hard work. For a good cause though.

Ric;

Thanks for stopping by my blog again, I have really been neglecting it, lots of stuff going on. I am preparing for surgery on December 16 and I have had several doctor appointments to add to an all ready too busy schedule. I may try to use my blog to keep my online friends up to date on this whole process I am going through. Well see.

Mike S has mentioned the In the Attic chat to me before but I have never participated in it, sometimes it is a bit distracting and I am afraid to miss something. The Basement Jam format is different so maybe I will give this chat thing a try, if you can let me know what time on Sunday maybe I can join in!

Very good to hear from you again!
